VISIBLE RELIGION
AN INTRODUCTION


Published in 2018, Visible Religion provides an introduction to the study of religion in light of communication theory, with particular consideration of visual media and its role in shaping and transmitting religious symbol systems.
The book ties historical research in with major theories and methodological approaches in the study of religion in past and present. The book makes available the findings of investigations pursued in recent years by the research group Media and Religion. The volume addresses an academic audience from disciplines such as the study of religion, theology, anthropology, art history, popular culture, and media studies.
